Last year I was invited to an afternoon tea at the Fairmont Royal York and wrote about it for the National Post.
Etiquette expert Jay Remer led us through the occasion explaining dos and don’ts — a finishing school primer if you will — many of which I still try to adhere to. Does anyone notice that I take my seat at a table from the right? Probably not, but I know, and that’s good enough.
So, if you’re toasting the Queen this Victoria Day weekend with some tea, have a read of these ground rules, plus a primer on how to make the perfect cuppa.
To those in Canada, have a good long weekend! (To those not in Canada, take Monday off.)
